Description JohnMarkiel 2012-07-16 17:26:42 UTC
In 2.6.2 (my last version) saving an image as jpg generated a preview which was shown next to the file when the folder was used again in the "Open Image" dialog. In 2.8.0, although the "Save thumbnail" advanced option is selected, there is no preview image associated with the previously saved jpg file in the "Open Image" dialog.

That's caused by bug #669818 - with a file size reported to be 1.3 GiB for any file, no thumbnails are shown. If you change the maximum file size for thumbnail creatio to 2 e.g. GiB in GIMP's settings, they are shown.
