Description Taryn Fox 2012-07-10 11:05:48 UTC
PROBLEM

Very often when I try to scroll downward after switching focus to a window, using the mouse wheel, it "jumps" several pages. I lose my place in code, I don't see a whole email message without scrolling back upwards, etc.

KNOWN AFFECTED APPLICATIONS

1. Gedit
2. Evolution

KNOWN UNAFFECTED APPLICATIONS

1. Firefox (uses a separate GUI toolkit)

HOW TO REPRODUCE

1. Alt-Tab between Firefox and an active Gedit session.
2. Use the scrollwheel on an external mouse.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

Mouse wheel scrolling won't be screwed up.

Distribution information and version information about GNOME is highly welcome...
Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2012-07-10 17:44:10 UTC
In particular, gtk3 version is relevant here; this is fallout from the XI2 port of gtk that landed in gtk 3.4
Comment 3 Taryn Fox 2012-07-10 19:20:59 UTC
I am using Fedora 17, with whatever the most up to date software is I believe. How do I check the version of gtk3?
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2012-07-10 23:12:28 UTC
rpm -q gtk3
Comment 5 Taryn Fox 2012-07-14 01:18:32 UTC
Okay, sorry for the delay. I'm using

gtk3-3.4.3-2.fc17.x86_64
