As you can see in the attached snapshot, there is a black box even though the theme is a bright one -- and in fact, there is a black box too in the the headers part of the mail view.

An amusing thing is that if I change to the "Adwaita" theme and back to "Clearlooks", then I still have the black background, but the text is now gray, so almost readable.

I'm unsure if it's an evolution or gtkhtml problem (or something else?), but since it isn't just about the mail view, I thought starting from evolution would make sense.

This is with debian's 3.4.3 version.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
