Description matthew 2012-06-26 22:18:50 UTC
In Ubuntu 12.04, I right-click on gedit in the unity launcher, and select "Open a New Window".

Expected result: Gedit opens a new window with one new document

Actual result: Gedit opens a new window with two new documents

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Hi Robert, are you sure this is a duplicate? Bug 679548 seems to describe "Open New *Document*" creating a new window. This bug is about "Open New *Window*" creating two tabs (documents) in the new window, rather than one.
Comment 3 Stefan Melmuk 2012-08-16 04:55:59 UTC
I can reproduce the bug.

Open gedit.
Start "gedit --new-window".
It will open a new window with two tabs.
