After some extended time spent offline (10 minutes or so?), empathy floods me with notifications about my various SIP and XMPP accounts failing to connect. Opening the empathy chat window, I indeed see that it has been trying to connect all this time (why does it even try?).

In any case, it should only bother notifying me if it fails to connect *and* networkmanager is online. But then it should certainly not even "try" to connect if NM is offline.

Mission-control is now the one taking care of watching the connectivity. Can you please check if your MC has been built with NM support and report a MC bug if that's the case?
