Description Kevin Breit 2001-12-30 19:04:15 UTC
The Preferences (accessible through the Preferences menu) should be its own
section in Gnome Control Center, similar to the way that Sawfish is. This
idea is based on the 1.5.x tree of the Control Center.

At some point we might do this. I'm not sure what the pros and cons
are, but at first glance it sounds like a good idea.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2002-02-14 20:05:19 UTC
professional hat off, this sounds like a really nice idea- it only
makes sense that preferences:// in nautilus actually be preferences://
for nautilus :) [BTW, Darin, you probably don't hear this enough, but
since I'm here: I've always argued against using nautilus for
preferences, but the new nautilus is soooo much faster I've completely
dropped any objections to that. Thanks for all the good work.]

Just wanted to chime in here. I think that putting the preferences for
nautilus desktop and icon.list view icons in the gnomecc is a good
idea as these could be incorporated into metatheme for a more complete
gnome themer. However specific nautilus options like speed tradeoffs,
icon/list view option etc. should stay in the nautilus specific
preferences, not in gnomecc.

new prefernece dialog fixes this.
