Description Álvaro Peña 2012-05-25 16:10:32 UTC
Create a better UX when the user has selected the encryption option. At the moment, the password is required more than once to uncrypt the database, at start time and when the user has closed Almanah.
Comment 1 Álvaro Peña 2015-06-18 08:05:56 UTC
FMPOV the encryption must be not an option but a default behavior. The user, at first time, must be able to choose an existing key or we create a new one using GPGMe with the user information.

The user can change the encryption key in the preferences dialog (or create a new one).

Agreed. I cannot think of a reason why the database should ever be unencrypted, as long as the UI for setting up encryption is really easy.
Comment 3 Philip Withnall 2017-05-17 08:33:40 UTC
Additionally, see if we can improve the encryption passphrase prompt: it’s typically provided by the system GPG helper, and is a system modal dialogue with some scary text like “2 tries remaining” which can put people off. Two tries before what? Before my GPG key is locked out forever?
