there is PS/2 mouse used by default in win XP but this is not working at all after installation, you need to go to virt-manager, add generic usb mouse to have it working

Weird, works fine here. Is it possible that the VM or boxes is hung? Could you try if keyboard works?

Hmm I've been seeing that often lately. Rebooting the VM using the keyboard gets things back in order.

Keyboard worked, just mouse wasn't.
I haven't chance to test it recently .. but the issue was that ps/2 driver was chosen and I had to fix it via adding new hid device in virt-manager

will try to test it again with the same XP iso. Hope I can do it this week. Will reopen then.
