Sorry, I hit enter too early...the fact that the message says "file not found" makes me think your tracker database for local files is not up to date.
Can you run 'tracker-control' from a terminal and paste the output here? Did you perhaps disable tracker indexing of files?

Weird...does this happen for every ODS file or just for one file?
What's the name of the file (e.g. does it contain special characters)?

What's the output of 'tracker-info /path/to/the/file.ods' from a terminal?

And no, there are no special characters within the filename or path and ATM it happens only to this file as far I can see

Data looks okay; is there any chance you can attach the problematic file here?

ODS-File which is not openable

I just tested on my machine (Arch Linux with latest stable Gnome 3.4) with the spreadsheet supplied by Heiko, and gnome documents sucessfully displays the document contents.

Cosimo, any chance you can investigate a little?

Not sure what's left to investigate here...I just tried to reproduce the bug now. I downloaded the attached ODS, started Documents and it showed up right on top as it should be. Alexander's comment #8 also makes me think this is a configuration problem, not a Documents bug.

Heiko, do you still reproduce this bug on GNOME 3.6?

Sorry, but I don't use Gnome anymore at the moment.
