GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 671778
UI: a lot of dead space by default
Last modified: 2014-01-14 23:02:18 UTC
When you use default open file dialog, at the bottom usually is a lot of dead space -- assuming you don't switch available options. Namely: * file type (section/slice) * version * read only Those are only 3 options, but they reserve entire space horizontally, so if not used, it is significant percentage of entire window. I don't see a point of having "file type" slice since there is "file type" combo (it is duplication). Version (if required) could be placed on the left of "file type" combo, and "read only" in left, bottom corner. In such case 3 "lines" are totally saved. More space for real data, i.e. presentation of files.
Can you please attach a screenshot here (that does not display confidential data) so we make sure that we discuss the same thing? :)
Sure link from other report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=209397 See the bottom, each of the mentioned widget (small itself) creates distinct line.
Translation, sorry: "Typ pliku" --> file type "tylko do odczytu" --> read only "wersja" --> "version"
