GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 667988
copy / paste (ctrl C / ctrl V) does not work with 2.4.9
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:05:04 UTC
It seems that copy / paste (ctrl C / ctrl V) does not work any more with gnucash V2.4.9.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a more useful description to this bug.
You can copy a transaction using the adhoc Transaction menu, but nothing happen when you try to copy something between 2 transactions (description, amount, account name, ...) or if you want to copy words from a program outside Gnucash to Gnucash or vice versa. It does not work with ctrl C / ctrl V and it does not work with the copy / paste functions in the Gnucash Edition menu. Outside of Gnucash the copy / paste performs as usual on my PC. Hope this helps.
This is happening to me as well, on two PCs both running Windows 7. I use Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V often to cut an amount from the Debit column and paste it into the Credit column. Ctrl+X removes the text that I'm trying to cut, but it's not in the clipboard buffer (I can't paste it into any other app in Windows). Ctrl+V does work to paste copied text that I have copied from some other app. It looks like it's just putting data onto the Windows clipboard that's broken.

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
