The Comment textareas in Class shape of UML sheet is collapsed to one pixel in height. The textarea is still available for editing, but completely unusable.

I found that behavior in next tabs:
  Attributes
  Operations (there is Operation Data and Parameter Data sections)

Also, the Comment textarea on Class tab is not collapsed, but there visible only one line.

You might want to report this to the Ubuntu developers, see bug 662728 for a work around.
