GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 667372
Startup missing tray icon
Last modified: 2012-01-06 05:27:57 UTC
In contrary to 0.7.5 the version 0.8.1 lost it's systray icon. Please reenable it again, thanks. First reported there. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnote/+bug/912188
Is status-icon enabled in configuration? Gnote manual tells how to enable it. Version 0.8.2 also allows to enable it in preferences dialog.
There is no status-icon to enable in configuration. The manual mentions preferences - add to panel, this refers rather to gnome-classic. With Oneiric and Unity I didn't configure anything and it just did display in systray after initially start. In Precise it doesn't and there is nothing in preferences to enable.
I meant Gnote manual, accessible from Help menu, not man page. Try this command: gsettings set org.gnome.gnote use-status-icon true Did it help? As I mentioned, 0.8.2 has a GUI for this setting.
Apologize, I've linked to wrong bug (concerns fluxbox) in description, mine is there. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnote/+bug/912407
Sorry, I thought manual reveals more specifics. Found it in the 'Help' Guide of GUI under FAQ instead of preferences. I've checked it now in dconf-editor and it works. Thank you. Thanks for implementing it in 0.8.2 GUI, otherwise a user needed to install another application in order to enable the status icon of Gnote. Looking forward that it lands in Precise before release candidate. Or does it need an extra sync request from user?
