Description Philippe Gauthier 2011-12-01 19:25:57 UTC
The keyboard shortcut used to lock the screen (Ctrl-Alt-L by default) does not have any effect when the GNOME Shell is in Activities view.

To reproduce the problem:
0. Type the Lock Screen keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-Alt-L) and verify that the screen is locked. Unlock it with your password.
1. Activate the Activities view (by moving the cursor to the hot corner)
2. Type the Lock Screen keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-Alt-L)
3. The screen should stay unlocked.

Expected:
3. The screen locks.

Selecting Lock Screen from the Status menu will always work even in Activities view.

I am running Debian unstable with the latest packages sometimes from experimental.

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

(The core issue is shortcuts implemented in gnome-settings-daemon not working when the shell has a keyboard grab)
