Description Patryk Zawadzki 2011-11-24 12:44:31 UTC
The thick black frame remains anchored at the place it gets displayed first. Window textures start to corrupt each other.
Comment 1 Patryk Zawadzki 2011-11-24 12:45:52 UTC
It seems the attachment creation failed. I have a video demonstrating this. Problem is observable on all three machines using nouveau I have.

Comment 3 Rui Matos 2011-11-24 13:14:26 UTC
You probably have the gconf key /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/cycle_windows set to Alt+` and this binding is handled by the old metacity code which doesn't work correctly under gnome-shell.

The default configuration isn't that though so you must have changed something locally. You should set /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_group to "<Alt>Above_Tab" and unset /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/cycle_windows.
Comment 4 Patryk Zawadzki 2011-11-24 13:17:52 UTC
This is on a clean install. And this is gnome-shell, not metacity. Are you sure you want me to install gconf-editor?
Comment 5 Florian Müllner 2011-11-24 13:19:39 UTC
Not sure why you are getting the rectangle in the first place (alt-` is supposed to show the alt-tab switcher with the window thumbnails active) - did you change the bindings manually?
Anyway, it's a known problem which is likely caused by us doing stuff behind GTK's back which GTK+-3 does not like anymore.

Comment 7 Patryk Zawadzki 2011-11-24 13:21:04 UTC
I did not change any of the bindings. Backtick is my "above tab" key.
Comment 8 Patryk Zawadzki 2011-11-24 13:21:53 UTC
Sorry, muscle memory. Actually that's indeed alt+esc.
