Since a couple of updates ago, when I start empathy using the messaging indicator, the empathy window appears for a second on my screen and then disappears. I need to click on the message indicator again to display the window.

This is a bad user experience.

steps to reproduce
1 Start your PC
2 Go to the messaging-indicator
3 click on empathy

 -> the contactlist window appears for a millisecond

4 go to the message-indicator again
5 click on empathy

-> the contactlist window stays

The message indicator is Ubuntu specific and not part of upstream. This bug shouldn't be forwarded here.
