GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 663827
GMail: More than one address per Google account
Last modified: 2018-03-16 09:10:17 UTC
I noticed that when I connected my Google account to gnome-online-accounts, that I could send mail with that account using Evolution. Great work! However, I am using GMail with multiple addresses: 1) the foo@gmail.com connected to the Google account 2) a foo@bar.com account that uses an external SMTP server to send the email. If possible, it would be totally awesome to be able to use Evolution (or Gnome Mail or whatever mail client Gnome will use) to send an email using any of my two addresse, just as I can do in the GMail web interface.
This has nothing to do with GOA per se, reassigning this wishlist item to Evolution.
Just setup two email accounts in Evolution 1) Setup your Gmail, maybe using Gnome-online-accounts 2) Setup foo@bar.com in Evolution accounts, but only setup the outbound SMTP if that is all you want (to be able to send mail). You can then select whichever address you want when sending mail
Right, using GNOME Online Accounts (GOA) provides built-in option to get receiving and sending parts configured automatically. For anything special, like a different SMTP server, configure the account directly in Evolution. There are aliases now, but different SMTP servers can be used just as Ian said.
