GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 663272
String should be MB/s instead of Mb/s
Last modified: 2012-09-05 21:42:58 UTC
Steps: - plug an usb2 device (in my case this is my Android phone) - open palimpsest and open the device. Look at the line "Connection" (actually it also displays the speed) Expected result : "USB at 480.0 Mb/s" instead of "USB at 480.0 MB/s" Notice : this error is also true with French language (Mo/s instead of Mb/s).
Created attachment 200556 [details] [review] Path to fix the speed unit Fix the speed unit to show Mb/s instead of MB/s, kb/s instead of kB/s and Gb/s instead of GB/s for the speed.
(In reply to comment #0) > Notice : this error is also true with French language (Mo/s instead of Mb/s). Please file a bug report under L10N/French.

Looking at recent Git changes it seems that there are rarely any updates to this product that aren't just translation updates. Out of only 104 bugs there are 21 unreviewed patches most of them quit old. Anyway my point is you may need to chase up one of the maintainers: David Zeuthen Matthias Clasen Tomas Bzatek On IRC to get this patch reviewed and applied.
That's because all the work is happening in the udisks2-port branch which is a complete rewrite of the user interface. This branch will be merged to master soon. When it has landed, my plan is to go through all open bugs.
In current code the only appearance of "%d MB/s" is correct.
