GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 659949
"Lock screen after" setting in Screen is ignored
Last modified: 2011-12-15 05:36:29 UTC
this report has been filed here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/855404 "In the settings window, in the "Screen" preferences, there are very few options, and even they don't seem to work. One of them is the "Lock screen after" option where you can select a delay before the screen is locked and required a password to regain access. I have this set to 1 hour. But that setting is ignored. I haven't pinned down exactly how long it actually waits for; it isn't immediately after screen turn off, but it's only a few minutes longer, I think - and probably the default, whatever that was." "The "Turn off after" option is set to 10 minutes. And the screen does seem to turn off after that time, or as near that I've not noticed it doing otherwise. At some unmeasured time after that (but way, way less than an hour) waking it again requires the password." debug log: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/80733347/xsession-errors.log
version is 3.1.92.
Please test with a more recent version of gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-desktop (and if the problem persists, please give out the exact version numbers, and try to attach a gnome-settings-daemon debug log as well).
