GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 659471
Change DNS for irc.gnome.org
Last modified: 2011-10-19 18:11:33 UTC
Hi! Since we are having issues with getting changes into the gimp.org domain, could you update irc.gnome.org to point to these adresses: irc A 130.239.18.157 A 194.249.156.126 A 82.99.16.155 A 192.219.30.200 AAAA 2001:16f8:4::42 Those are the currently active servers. This is somewhat of an interim solution until we can fix the domain thing properly, but at least this will make "irc.gnome.org" work well for now.
$ host irc.gnome.org. irc.gnome.org has address 192.219.30.200 irc.gnome.org has address 194.249.156.126 irc.gnome.org has address 82.99.16.155 irc.gnome.org has address 130.239.18.157 irc.gnome.org has IPv6 address 2001:16f8:4::42 One problem I did notice: jeff@omniscience:~$ nc -v -z 192.219.30.200 6667 Connection to 192.219.30.200 6667 port [tcp/ircd] succeeded! jeff@omniscience:~$ nc -v -z 194.249.156.126 6667 nc: connect to 194.249.156.126 port 6667 (tcp) failed: Connection refused jeff@omniscience:~$ nc -v -z 82.99.16.155 6667 Connection to 82.99.16.155 6667 port [tcp/ircd] succeeded! jeff@omniscience:~$ nc -v -z 130.239.18.157 6667 Connection to 130.239.18.157 6667 port [tcp/ircd] succeeded! 194.249.156.126 doesn't appear to be running an ircd (or listening at all) on the normal irc ports of 994 or 6667.
