GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 655349
Shrinking space between icons as well as shrinking text on small screens
Last modified: 2011-07-26 15:14:43 UTC
I was just adding gnome-shell-extension-gpaste and thought, with all these new extensions adding icons to the top bar... we could quickly run out of space. Just as a test I did xrandr -s 800x600. The temperature turned into ... and my name disappeared completely. But I noticed the space between the icons still quite large. Tried xrandr -s 640x480 and again there's enough space between the icons to fit new ones. At 640x480 icons just disappeared. Which is another issue. How do you access the missing icons? As an option how about shrinking the space between the icons when they start to get into space problems. Second thing how about a way of scrolling the icons or have a feature like Windows where icons not used get hidden.
