Description ramses.rommel 2011-06-11 20:24:52 UTC
I noticed that if I use alt-tab to select a window that is not full-screen and my mouse pointer is located above another window, focus is given to the second window. This is pretty annoying because I constantly have to move my mouse instead of being able to keep my hands on the keyboard.

I think alt-tab should give focus to the selected window instead, this is how focus-follows-mouse is implemented in most WMs and is IMHO the most usable config as well.

Is this a bug or did you guys just decide to implement it the way it is? I'm also not totally sure whether this is a mutter bug, I'm not too familiar with the different components of the WM and their exact tasks.
So excuse me if I picked the wrong component, I'll be happy to file the bug in the right place if someone can point me to it :)

System:
Arch linux running mutter 3.0.2.1 and gnome-shell 3.0.2.
