Description Luke Hutchison 2011-04-01 05:04:15 UTC
The Brightness OSD in GNOME 3.0 (Fedora 15 Alpha) loses Fn+F6/Fn+F7 (brightness up/down) key events if they are typed faster than the display can update -- and the OSD seems to have a lag of somewhere between 300 and 500ms between when the key is pressed and when the display updates. Therefore if you are quickly tapping the Fn-key combination a number of times a second, many of the keypress events are ignored and discarded, which makes the OSD feel laggy and unresponsive.

(This is on a Toshiba laptop, which I'm sure the exact Fn key combinations are unique to -- but the problem feels like it is happening in the UI layer and is not hardware-specific.)

Works for me in GNOME 3.2
