GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 646096
Problem with decimal separator in ru_RU.UTF-8 locale
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:55:50 UTC
Russia has a comma as decimal separator. But when GnuCash is launched in ru_RU.UTF-8 locale -- the separator is a period. Moreover, pressing of "Del" key on Numeric Pad in Russian language layout gives nothing (not comma, neither period). Thus after putting description of account entry in Russian I have to change language layout just to put amount!!! It's a little bit inconvenient.
So in 2.4.7 (Ubuntu 11.04, Altlinux) still not works. My friends, I was a little bit sarcastic when I wrote "It's a little bit inconvenient". This bug is highly harmful, because it makes me mad when I try to put "25.36" and get "2536" instead. And it's inconsistent with the Russian national standard. It seems not too hard to fix, e. g. Ukrainian uk_UA.UTF8 has comma as expected, does it?
This would be a bug in the locale and not a bug in GnuCash. Talk to your distribution provider and get them to fix your locale.
