GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 645948
Gimp does not recognize tablet, no pressure sensitivity.
Last modified: 2012-04-20 04:12:50 UTC
When I tried 2.7.1 I found I no longer had any pressure sensitivity with my pen tablet. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit operating system and it is a Digipro WP4030 tablet. It works fine with previous versions of Gimp. I'm currently using it with 2.6.11. I checked to make sure it was set to screen in input devices and found it wasn't listed. I believe it just came up pointer and it was already set to screen. It also wouldn't let me make any changes in the input devices box or more to the point it wouldn't save any changes. It shows up in the input directory in the previous versions of Gimp, but its not showing up at all in 2.7.1. The tablet will work but there is no pressure sensitivity. I tried re-installing the tablet, updating drivers, basically everything I could think of. It works fine in everything else. I'm at a loss to what the problem could be.
AFAIK tablet support is totally broken with the GTK+ version that is shipped with the development installers.
This is on Gentoo Linux. I compiled Gimp-2.7.3 from git sources. I can paint with tablet but pressure doesn't work. I also have Gimp-2.6.11 where pressure works OK. Gerard.
Please do not mix issues from different platforms.
Please try GIMP 2.7.4 and report back.
Could you please try to reproduce problem with GIMP 2.7.4 or later version and update the bug report with your findings, tia.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GIMP.
