Comment 1 kikidong 2011-03-28 11:14:39 UTC
esp. when you have some activity in system-try, gnome-shell is then more than likely to crash.
Comment 2 Joerg 2011-06-09 00:38:26 UTC
I noticed that if i re-log in my system (two user system) that my account freezes and i need to reboot.
It looks like that either metacity or mutter i suppose crashes.
This seems to be the same kind of issue.

Joerg: please file a separate report, as there's no reason why your two bugs should be the same. Also, check that waiting for about 5 minutes doesn't fix the problem (that would be bug 651378).

kikidong: do you still experience the bug?

To both: please follow the instructions from
http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Debugging
Else, it's very hard to help. Thanks!
Comment 4 Joerg 2011-06-09 23:39:25 UTC
there is a problem with the guide.

I can't execute ./scr/gnome-shell --replace -g
Option -g is not known.

Also gdb attach, whereof attach is not known.
Do i need to install something?

Thanks
Comment 5 Milan Bouchet-Valat 2011-06-10 08:43:58 UTC
The -g option has been removed, since now you can just run 'gdb gnome-shell'.
