Description Vladimir Chukharev 2011-03-25 21:07:57 UTC
Start gnumeric.
Click on 'Insert a Chart'.
Select 'New graph sheet'.
Click 'Insert'.
Try Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDn, they do not work on this page. Same for Ctrl-Z,
Ctrl-R, Menu. (Note that the keys work if the tab label is selected with
a mouse click or tab and arrow buttons).

Go to Sheet1. Check that Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDn work here as well as other
mentioned key combinations.

Insert a chart here. It is selected right after insertion, select it if not so.
Try Shift-Up, Shift-Left, Shift-Right, and Shift-Down. Watch that not one of
these combinations move the chart closer to top-left corner and that Shift-Right
and Shift-Down do the same motion.

Tested on gnumeric-1.10.13 in FreeBSD/Gnome and gnumeric-1.10.14 in WinXP.

Ctrl-Z seems to work just fine for me on the graph sheet.
What is ctrl-r supposed to do?
The same with ctrl Pg-UP and Ctrl-PGDn: what arre they supposed to do on a graph sheet? The view is already at the top and bottom of the graph.

I agree that there are problems with shift-right and friends if a sheet is selected on regular sheet. It seems that there is some additional move by one cell in a perpendicular direction to the intended move.

> Ctrl-Z seems to work just fine for me on the graph sheet.

Uhm... It mostly works for me now, too. One time it did not, but I cannot
understand how I can trigger this again. Yesterday it definitely did not.
I think for the same reason as today, and I'll try to identify what triggers
it. My first guess was keyboard layout (I have Finnish and Russian), but
that seems wrong...

As I wrote, yesterday it did work sometimes too, e.g. if I clicked on the
sheet tab label.

Well, yesterday evening I updated some parts of gnome... That might be
the reason for the change of key behavior...

> What is ctrl-r supposed to do?

Sorry, it's Ctrl-Y, redo. Same story as undo now.

They are supposed to change to next sheet (right and left), as on any other
sheet. If do not I miss something...

For the shift-arrow problem with sheet objects on a regular sheet I have opened a separate bug # 645805.
Comment 4 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-03-27 17:39:55 UTC
The undo/redo issue is now bug #645842.

It seems that which actions are available depends on the history of the sheet.
Comment 5 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-03-27 17:41:40 UTC
The ctrl-PgUp and Dn don't work because the code is attached to the pane and chart-only sheets do not have panes. This is clearly a bug, and I believe the only one here that is not covered by another bug.
Comment 6 Vladimir Chukharev 2011-03-27 18:09:59 UTC
What about menu button?
Comment 7 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-03-27 19:18:51 UTC
I missed that one but it should be either the same as the actions issue or the ctrlpgup.
Comment 8 Jean Bréfort 2011-08-11 13:27:42 UTC
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
