GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 645277
Menu items rendering illegibly
Last modified: 2011-03-21 04:47:15 UTC
Created attachment 183833 [details] screenshot showing weird menu rendering See enclosed screenshot. Most but not all menu items are rendering in this way. Active items clean up on mouse-over, look fine afterward. This may not be a GIMP issue: a) I haven't seen it before (haven't used GIMP in ~6 months) b) noticed error under 2.6.1, realized that it was an ancient release, so I downloaded latest from the GIMP on OSX site. Problem continues. But submitting it anyway, in case someone finds it useful to know about it.

Two further observations: -tools menu also shows the same bug, in reverse. Here, the text starts off fine, then distorts when the mouse goes over it. -opened an image, and GIMP displays a very grainy and distorted version of it. The distortions are not persistent - saving a copy of the image, it displays fine in other viewers. Attachments attached.
The UI is not rendered by GIMP, it's rendered by GTK+. Also, we don't provide "GIMP on OSX", it's an external site. Please report this to the "GIMP on OSX" people because only they can say which version of GTK+ is used, and might be able to help you.
Thanks - I'll take it to the right people.
