This Error Started To Occur When I Updated the Software Packages using YAsT

Could you run totem from a command line / terminal window like this:

 $ GST_DEBUG=*:5 totem 2>dbg.log
 ... reproduce error, then exit totem ...
 $ bzip dbg.log

and attach dbg.log.bz2 to this bug report?

Also, what distro/version is this with exactly?

Here's a hint:

 ** (totem:10690): WARNING **: can't find typefind element, decodebin will not work

Looks like libgstcoreelements.so got blacklisted for some reason (sadly it doesn't say why).

Please try:

 $ rm ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry*

and then start totem again. If things still don't work then, please do:

 $ rm ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry*
 $ GST_DEBUG=*:5 gst-inspect-0.10 /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstcorelements.so 2>dbg.log

and attach the dbg.log file.
