GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 64128
Umlaut characters truncate string rendering.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The document given in the URL (It's a terse character sheet for the rolemaster rpg in swedish) doesn't render correctly. I use umlaut characters (ä and ö in this case) and all strings using these are truncated, so that "Längd:" turns into "L". In the print preview all these strings disappears completly. I remember this working at least at some point, as I've successfully printed out sheets using gnumeric after importing them from excel and fixing them up a bit. This is 0.75.
Confirmed. This is *probably* a gnome-print issue. I have roughly 0.29 and I see... ** CRITICAL **: file gnome-font-face.c: line 627 (gnome_font_face_lookup_default): assertion `cb != NULL' failed. ** CRITICAL **: file gnome-print.c: line 575 (gnome_print_show_sized): assertion `g_utf8_validate (text, bytes, &invalid)' failed. about once per string, I'd guess.
