Description Patrick Niedzielski 2011-01-26 13:19:23 UTC
SCIM, the Smart Common Input Method, does not play well with GNOME Shell. I am unable use it both in Overview mode and in the IM notifications. It works with all other windows, but with GNOME Shell, no SCIM notification toolbar pops up when I input something. As a result, I cannot type many of the languages I need to.

This is an important bug to fix, because many of my folders have diacritical marks which my keyboard cannot type. I use SCIM as a means to type them, but I cannot search for them in GNOME Shell. Furthermore, I IM people in various languages, but I am forced not to use the notification bubble when using a non-English language.
