Description Lance Haig 2010-12-28 22:20:24 UTC
It would be great if you could offer an option at the bottom of the sidebar to click on the "All Notes" link.

On a similar note a more notebooks option would be god as well
Comment 1 Jeff Schroeder 2010-12-28 22:30:02 UTC
What do you guys think of either of these options:
    - Add "MORE NOTES..." below the list of recent notes
    - Move "ALL NOTES" from above the recent notes to below

This is an easy patch and I'd be willing to do it for the 0.7 release unless you want to take a stab at it Lance. We're always looking for new contributors :)
Comment 2 Sandy Armstrong 2010-12-28 22:35:05 UTC
I don't want to move ALL NOTES because you shouldn't have to scroll to get there. A "MORE..." at the bottom would probably be a welcome addition.

I'm not sure of the best approach for Notebooks, though. I think a "MORE..." link there would be nice, but since nobody probably has hundreds of notebooks, we could just expand the list to show all notebooks right in the sidebar when "MORE..." is clicked.

However, since we already have an ALL NOTES link, I think we might want to put off a patch here until we have designer input, or are more confident about the direction we want to go.
Comment 3 Jeff Schroeder 2010-12-28 22:39:25 UTC
Agreed on both of the first points.

If someone != me could review https://bugzilla.gnome.org/review?bug=613884&attachment=177083, and we merge it, I'll add a notebook_list view with a url something like:
http://snowy.u.r.l/notes/notebooks/list

We could also make it a bit shinier with some jquery. Show the first 5-6 notebooks and then slide down to display all of the notebooks when the user clicks MORE... underneath it.
Comment 4 Lance Haig 2010-12-28 22:53:30 UTC
Perhaps a "shudder" scroll bar for notebooks?
Comment 5 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2010-12-30 18:19:43 UTC
Hm, well is there a way to make the size of that thing dependent on the available area?

That is, if the contents being displayed on the right already require the user to scroll, then you can "afford" to show more notebooks in the sidebar; if not, put a "MOAR!" link that expands the list when the user clicks it?

Snowy has not seen any code changes since October 2011:
