Description Philipp Hullmann 2010-12-10 03:18:41 UTC
The AqBanking wizard fails to set up an HBCI account, giving the error message "Die angegebene Server-Adresse "" ist keine gültige Adresse eines Internet-Servers. Liegt vielleicht ein Tippfehler vor? Bitte korrigieren Sie die Server-Adresse.", even though a valid server address was entered in the dialog.
Comment 1 Frank H. Ellenberger 2010-12-15 03:35:55 UTC
The message says, you left the field Server-Adresse empty ("").
You must enter the server address of your bank like "https://meine.bank.de/unterverzeichnis"

Have a look at http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/AqBanking or http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/De/HBCI and the related links.

If that doesn't help, send an anonymized version of the AqBanking wizard log or screenshot of your settings dialog.
Comment 2 Philipp Hullmann 2010-12-15 04:00:06 UTC
The server field in the dialog is *not* empty (in my case set to "hbci.commerzbank.de"). Also, I am using an RDH key, not PIN/TAN, so a URL would probably be wrong in this field.

To me this looks like this bug in aqbanking: https://devel.aqbanking.de/trac/aqbanking/ticket/88
I am not sure what the more practical solution would be: either downgrade to an aqbanking version based on Qt3 instead of Qt4, or upgrade to aqbanking 5 (if that is compatible with the current GnuCash code).
Comment 3 Frank H. Ellenberger 2010-12-15 12:03:52 UTC
Philipp, thanks for your research.
Comment 4 Frank H. Ellenberger 2010-12-15 12:11:22 UTC
Oops.

In brief Martin suggests in ticket/88, to use aqbanking5 instead of aqbanking4.

John, which are we bundling for MacOS,
Christian which for Windows?
Comment 5 John Ralls 2010-12-15 14:57:22 UTC
I've been bundling aq4.2.4. I tried 5 locally to see if I could get the Gtk wizard to work, but it has display issues, so I set it aside for after Gnucash 2.4. I can try aq5.0.1 with Qt and if it looks OK bundle it in 2.4 (which looks like we're going to release it this weekend).
Comment 6 Christian Stimming 2010-12-15 15:34:25 UTC
I don't remember whether aqbanking5 still contains a setup wizard with qt4, though.

I tried to check whether aqbanking5 can be used *without* qt4, but the gtk parts of it don't like nice enough to replace everything we have so far. But my last check is already a few months ago.

The Gtk Aqbanking wizard opening dialog

This shows that on a Mac, the dialog is too small and has no resizer (as is normal for dialogs).

A Gtk Aqbanking wizard data entry page

But the bigger problem is that all of the entry fields have invisible-char set to true.
Comment 9 John Ralls 2010-12-17 23:00:40 UTC
So the Gtk wizard isn't usable on Macs with quartz. It appears that Christian has it set up so that if one has aqbanking 5 there is only the Gtk wizard available.
Comment 10 John Ralls 2011-04-05 20:58:20 UTC
Please try a recent release (2.4.4.1 or 2.4.5 when it's release sometime in the next day or so). AqBanking is now version 5.0.2 and it's using the Gtk UI.
