Mockup of tweaked drag to dash visual design

Currently, if you drag an app launcher, the only thing that is displayed under the pointer is the app icon itself. This appears incomplete: app launchers are accompanied by a name everywhere else. It is also hard to see, since the background often interferes with recognition.

Including the app name and a background tile would fix these issues. Mockup attached.
