Description Paul Sladen 2010-11-27 03:40:44 UTC
Forwarded: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/681992

In Empathy IRC mode, when a message is entered that is longer than can be displayed in the current window width, the window is expanded. This continues to be repeated until the window has expanded /beyond/ the edge of the screen and the user can no longer see what they are typing, or half of the Empathy IRC window.

  http://launchpadlibrarian.net/59686915/during.png (getting wider)
  http://launchpadlibrarian.net/59686923/after.png (off edge of screen)

Ideally the IRC text entry box should be wrapped (or scrolled) when long lines are entered, rather than being allowed to resize the parent window beyond the bounds of the screen.
