Description Jean-François Fortin Tam 2010-11-01 14:43:28 UTC
If Evolution (haven't tried other mail clients) is already running, using Epiphany's "File>Send link by email" menu item doesn't do anything.

It only works if Evolution is not already running.
Comment 1 Fabio Durán Verdugo 2010-11-01 15:09:16 UTC
the bug exists in 2.30.6
Comment 2 Alexandre Mazari 2011-03-09 21:19:00 UTC
Still present in master. Sending a link by mail crashed eds.

I'll look into that.
Comment 3 Diego Escalante Urrelo (not reading bugmail) 2012-01-29 06:39:39 UTC
We no longer have this item.
Comment 4 Xan Lopez 2012-01-30 10:33:08 UTC
We do, it's in the context menu.
Comment 5 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2012-01-30 16:54:38 UTC
You'd be surprised how useful this feature is for non-computer litterate users. I heartily suggest you keep it, and perhaps that you even add it to the new "app menu".
Comment 6 Diego Escalante Urrelo (not reading bugmail) 2012-12-10 15:45:48 UTC
Works for me. You can still access it by right-click at any blank spot in the page.

No crashes in evolution, both sending and clicking a mailto: work. Although the startup notification seems to be a bit silly and keep the cursor as busy (we start this things with gtk_show_uri)

Should we add it to the gear menu? I can agree with Jean's reason of making it easy to discover link sharing.
Comment 7 Bastien Nocera 2014-02-13 15:08:22 UTC
Seems that it works and it's about discovery, so re-titling.
Comment 8 Michael Catanzaro 2018-03-25 17:49:45 UTC
This is a mass NEEDINFO of all Epiphany bugs with no activity in the past three years. I'm going to be automatically closing old bugs to help us focus on current problems. If you feel this bug is still relevant with Epiphany 3.26 or newer, then please leave any comment here so that I know not to close this one.
Comment 9 Bastien Nocera 2018-03-28 13:09:24 UTC
The menu item still doesn't do anything in 3.26, with Evolution already running.

Works perfectly in Geary, both with Epiphany installed as a flatpak (in which case it goes through the OpenURI portal) and as an RPM.

I don't think this needs to be more discoverable, because it's a niche feature.
