Description William Jon McCann 2010-10-29 03:52:44 UTC
GNOME 3 has deprecated use of status icons and the notification area. Seahorse-plugins currently seem to use a status icon to toggle visibility of the agent cache window. And show a menu of "Clear Cache", "Show Window", "Cache Preferences".

My recommendation is that clearing the cache and cache preferences be accessed from the seahorse main application. I'm actually not really sure what the agent cache window is for... but hopefully we can find another place for it.

Thanks.

The seahorse agent is now gone. The gnome-keyring agent has replaced it, and it doesn't have a status display.

There is room for a plugin or installable tool to check the status of what secrets are sitting around in memory. But it doesn't exist, and probably won't be included by default.
