Description J.H.M. Dassen (Ray) 2010-10-16 19:25:07 UTC
[Originally reported as http://bugs.debian.org/599051]

From: "Kingsley G. Morse Jr." <change@nas.com>

Package: gnumeric
Version: 1.10.5-1
Severity: wishlist

I agree that gnumeric is a world class
spreadsheet, and I use it daily.

Please enhance it to let the user choose whether
grids are rendered over or under plots.

I've been told that grids are always displayed
first, but it seems to me that displaying them
last would be particularly welcome with plots
filled to the X axis, so the fill doesn't hide the
grid.

Thanks,
Kingsley

Might be not so easy to fix in goffice-0.8.x without breaking the ABI.

Done for scatter plots.

This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.

A better solution would be to just display the filled areas under the grid when requested and keep lines, markers, and (in the future) labels above the grid, but this can't be done without breaking the ABI.
