Description Aurimas Černius 2010-09-10 21:44:45 UTC
Now the default template note can be deleted, but notebook template can not (delete this note button in note window is disabled).

Deleting template note is a way to restore it to default.

I'd like to know, if there is a reason for such behavior?

Corresponding Gnote bug 627419, has a trivial patch, that fixes the problem in Gnote, might be interesting.

Interesting idea, using deletion as a reset. Will have to think abou this.

There should be a way to reset the notebook template note. The problem is that if the notebook template note is the ONLY notebook note, then the notebook will actually disappear on tomboy restart because notebook persistence depends on the notebook Tag which must exist on some note.

So we could allow delete, we just need to be careful that behind the scenes, the tempate is really just being re-created.

An alternative would be to stick a "reset" button on the template-bar.

Bug 653062 introduces new functionality for templates. You can open the template, click "Convert to regular note". At this point, the template will be reset to the default.
