GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 629097
brasero doesn't block nautilus handling of optical medias while waiting for media
Last modified: 2018-09-21 17:08:05 UTC
I have configured by nautilus to ask what to do when a DVD is inserted. Then, I do the following: 1. I open a dvd iso image with totem 2. It offers me to burn it using brasero 3. Brasero is opened but shows me no media is loaded 4. I put a DVD 5. Brasero detects it but also nautilus window asking me what to do is opened From my point of view, it doesn't make sense and users expect to simply get it recognized by brasero and burn iso image instead of see how nautilus still wants to do what user has in nautilus configuration. Thanks
I am aware of the problem and I tried to push some changes to improve the situation. The lack of any locking facilities at the moment makes it impossible to fix in the current situation. Once we do have a locking API things should improve hopefully. This unmanaged coordination creates other problems as well.
