GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 628991
Side effects: multiple instances of GnuCash share the same GConf settings like column width
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:44:22 UTC
Created attachment 169705 [details] Screenshot When I have 2 instances of GnuCash running (with 2 different files, which is offered as a legal option when the system detects the first running instance), changing the column width in the account tree window in one instance also changes the column with in the second instance. I'm not sure if this is really a bug, but it strikes me as really weird. I wonder, if there are other side effects as well.
I agree, in the business books I need much more columns (tax ...) than in the private books. This is one of many "Preferences are stored in the wrong place" issues. IMHO, the final column settings should be stored per book/file - eventually with some default values in GConf. Alternatively GConf should allow different user definable sets of settings, which are referenced by th books.
This should have been rsolved with Bug 666576.
