Description Stephen Blackstone 2010-09-06 18:41:34 UTC
When you type "gedit <directory name>" it currently gives you an error message that you are trying to open a directory.

A more useful behaviour is gedit should open the file browser, and set the specified directory as the current root.

Thanks!

FYI, this is the same as Bug 598057
Comment 4 Ricardo Varas 2014-03-25 17:11:20 UTC
I don't think this is a bug as Gedit will return a message that you are trying to open a directory instead of a file. If you click the Cancel button, Gedit will remain open and functional.
Anyhow, this one should be closed as duplicate of Bug 598057.

It isn't a bug as much as a feature request - the behavior to open the folder in the folder explorer is similar to the behavior textmate exhibits..
