Description Adam Outler 2010-09-04 12:34:50 UTC
When using Hotmail from multiple clients, all email messages will be randomly duplicated onto local email database.

My settings:
Server: pop3.live.com
Secure connection: SSL
auth: password
Leave messages on server

I have my mail sent to both my iPhone and my Evolution account. I would not either of them to delete email from the server so that both of them can access the messages. I also like to keep my email as an archive.

This was a problem with Microsoft Outlook about 4 years ago. It was resolved since then. It is a major annoyance and a potential hazard since the replication of email, when left unchecked, can lead to data loss when the hard disk fills up.

This issue only effects Evolution and not iPhone Mail, or Microsoft Outlook. The entire email inbox is downloaded every time Evolution "forgets" it has downloaded these messages in the past.
