GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 627841
Untranslatable string in search dialogue
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:43:41 UTC
The msgid "New %s" (in r19446 #: ../src/gnome-search/dialog-search.c:906) in a search dialogue makes the translation to Polish (maybe other Slavic languages too) awkward, because the form of Polish word for 'new' depends on 'gender' of the word after. The word 'new' should not be separated from its type label.
Yes, you're right. This is a known problem. I have a quick'n'dirty fix at hand which could change this before 2.3.16 or 2.4.0, but it would mean there is an untranslated string here. Well... maybe I already introduce the string into the translations, but don't yet use them for lookup. Whatever. Thanks for reporting and we are going to fix it.

but still needs to be activated once the string freeze is lifted.
