With the latest Empathy from git, upon start, only the Favorites and user-created groups are visible for me (ie, Ungrouped doesn't show up). (For other people, only the Favorites group is visible).

I think it may be search-related, since searching, then clearing the list makes all contacts and groups show up.

Actually, it looks unrelated to searching. In a local branch, I commented out the code that creates the search bar and hooks the IndividualView into it. This branch still his this bug just as consistently.

I'm fairly certain this is just a symptom of the problem in bug #626552. The patch I wrote for bug #626552 fixes it.
