Description mdoller 2001-10-17 21:28:22 UTC
when using the home directory as the desktop, many programs leave files in
there that clutter it up, i.e. minicom leaves minicom.log, KDE leaves the
Desktop and autosave directories, etc.
it would be nice if the user were able to some how set a property in each
file that would dictate if it would show up or not, and this could be
stored in the metadata.
this may be a problem for newbies however, so a quick way of showing those
files should be added too
this may be more confusing than its worth, but i like a tidy desktop :)

Suggest up'ing priority due to high visibility and several duplicate
reports?
Comment 6 Jeremy Nickurak 2003-03-04 01:47:23 UTC
Increasing priority for high visibility and frequent reporting.

Later nautilus releases have .hidden like .cvsignore. Just list files
you don't want shown in there. Closing.
