GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 624433
Unable to access "untrusted connection" page in Firefox
Last modified: 2010-07-17 13:20:58 UTC
Created attachment 165946 [details] Orca debug log To reproduce, visit http://bugs.openswan.org/ In Firefox/Debian Iceweasel 3.5.10, this leads to an "untrusted connection" page. Although the "get me out of here" button is accessible, there should also be a buuton or control to continue loading the page regardless of the TLS certificate problem on the site. This control is not accessible, i.e., it doesn't appear in the tab order.
Hi Jason. Thanks for your report. I can confirm what you are seeing, but this is not an Orca bug; it's a Firefox usability and accessibility problem. When the page is loaded what I see on the screen is text and a single, focusable button: "Get me out of here!" Beneath that button there are two headings, "Technical Details" and "I Understand the Risks." These two headings are not keyboard-focusable. However, if you click on either with the mouse, they expand. In order to access the button you seek, you must first click on "I Understand the Risks." <sighs> I am able to do this successfully using Orca: 1. View the page 2. Navigate by heading to "I Understand the Risks" 3. Review the current line (KP_8 in Orca's Desktop layout) 4. Perform a left click on the current item (KP_Slash in Orca's Desktop layout) 5. Tab to the Add Exception... button Because this is Firefox bug and one that you can work around using Orca, I'm closing this bug. I did file a bug against Mozilla/Firefox for this issue however: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=579639
