Description George 2010-06-25 07:26:09 UTC
Kubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS
Evolution 2.30.2 (also affected me on 2.28.3)
Evolution MAPI plugin 0.30.1
LibexchangeMAPI-1.0-0 0.30.1

Scenario
---
1. You are on windows and you have Outlook 2007 connected to an exchange server and you currently have existing mail.
2. Boot to Kubuntu Linux and run Evolution for the first time.
3. Setup MAPI info and sync your mail for the first time.
4. Result will have majority of emails in the inbox will have a blank FROM column.
5. Every new email that arrives after the initial sync will display the email address in the FROM column

Weirdness
---
In my case I have some very very old emails that are showing the address in the FROM column but a majority of the mail don't have it.

This problems has been reported in the following places.

Sorry, as just posted to mailing list:

Clear your profile
~/.evolution/mail/mapi/<account>

Then install ppa:jacob/evo230

Clear your profile again (just to be sure :) )
~/.evolution/mail/mapi/<account>

Everything shows up fine

Could you please recheck?

It works for me.

Good :) The only "issue" is that the local cache has always precedence from the message stored on the server, which makes sense, we do not want to refetch message again and again, only in this particular case, where was fixed something in message/summary fetching it isn't shown on old messages. It's slightly confusing, but once one gets to it... :)
