I'm using Epihnay 2.30 and i miss the "close tab with middle click" extension.
It allows the user to close tabs without having to precisely target the cross button with can be boring or difficult according to the circumstances

That extension was provided by Stefan Stuhr for epiphany-gecko http://www.sstuhr.dk/epiphany-extensions/#ext-middleclicktabclose
and Maciej Borzęcki also worked on it http://old.nabble.com/middle-click-tab-close-td20312206.html

According to its developer, epiphany-extensions is not under active development
anymore. (For reference: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2013-May/msg00035.html and bug 700924.)

It is unlikely that there will be any further active development.
