Description Jakob Unterwurzacher 2010-06-09 11:59:17 UTC
This bug is about .desktop links (see below for example) opening in the wrong browser. They open in firefox although my preferred browser is Google Chrome.

Bug 169670 deals with file association vs preferred browser and is controversial, but also has some comments on this issue ( for example https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169670#c13 ).

I think it is pretty weird to have html files not be associated with the default web browser. I think the default applications settings should just do that.
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2013-01-11 08:50:23 UTC
The code will do that as long as the web browser advertises that it supports text/html.
